Power Query - Now and Today transforms
Data Factory · Public preview · Planned
Description
Customers will be able to insert the current date and time into a query with a single ribbon command. Today adds the current date, and Now adds the current date and time. This puts a common need within reach of customers who don't write M. Stamping rows with the moment a query ran is how customers record when data was loaded, tell one refresh apart from another, and build an audit trail that survives into the report. It is also the starting point for any calculation that is relative to the present: days since an order, records older than thirty days, whether a due date has passed. Until now these all began with hand-written M that customers had to look up, and a small syntax error at that first step would fail the whole query. Now and Today make the same starting point a click.
