{"active":true,"blog_title":"New in Microsoft Fabric: Empowering Workspace Admins with Direct Workload Assignment","blog_url":"https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/new-in-microsoft-fabric-empowering-workspace-admins-with-direct-workload-assignment","feature_description":"Until now, assigning workloads in Microsoft Fabric was limited to capacity admins--scoped only at the capacity level. Today, we're introducing a major shift in control and flexibility.With this update, **workspace admins** can now assign workloads directly to their own workspaces. This means faster onboarding, more autonomy, and a streamlined experience for teams building with Fabric.**Key Highlights:**- Workspace admins can open the **Workload Hub**, select a supported workload, and assign it directly to their workspace--**no capacity-level permissions required**.- Once assigned, users can update the assignment and add additional workspaces as needed.- After the workload is added, all workspace participants can create the new item, which appears in the **New Panel** within the workspace.**Impact:**This change empowers decentralized teams to move faster while maintaining governance and visibility through the Fabric platform. With workspace-level assignment, we expect a significant boost in workload adoption across the organization.","feature_name":"Workspace-Level Workload Assignment","last_modified":"2025-11-04","product_id":"796a0af7-2dc7-ee11-9079-000d3a3419a8","product_name":"Administration, Governance and Security","release_date":"2025-09-15","release_item_id":"3a88492a-6b71-f011-bec3-6045bd09dba9","release_status":"Shipped","release_type":"Public preview"}
